Introduction
Central University of Jharkhand is the central university in Jharkhand. It is the only central university present in the state. This university is also acknowledged by CUJ, the short name of the university. Further, this university is located in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. CUJ was established back in 2009 by means of the parliament of India, under the first schedule of the Central Universities Act, 2009. Recognised as a university of national importance by the university grants commission. The motto behind the establishment of this university is “Knowledge to Wisdom.” The campus is quite huge and spread across 45 acres of land along with healthcare units, sports and many more. Furthermore, the chancellor and vice chancellor are Prof. Jai Prakash Lal and Prof. Kshiti Bhushan Das respectively.
At the time of inauguration, Darlando Khathing was appointed as a vice chancellor on 1 March 2009. Prof. AC Pandey is the dean of this university. Central University of Jharkhand has 24 departments with nine schools. This university offers 20 integrated UG and PG courses in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, education, and many more. It has 27 postgraduate and 22 PhD programmes in several disciplines. In order to get admitted to this college, UG and PG programs are done through CUET exams conducted by the NTA. Meanwhile, getting admitted into the PhD programmes is held on the basis of the CUJ research entrance test.

- This university has two operational campuses, one is permanent and the other one is temporary.
- The Brambe campus is a temporary one that has 45 acres vast which is located about 25 km from Ranchi city. This campus has 70 independent classrooms and teaching labs, research labs for science, engineering workshops, a computer lab and a 450-seat auditorium. This university indeed provides on-campus accommodation to students for boys and girls in separate hostels.
On the other hand, the Cheri Manatu campus is the permanent one, which is 510 acres. it is located 17 km far away from the Ranchi. The infrastructure of this campus is developing promptly. All the administrative activities, undergraduate classes and non-laboratory-based departments are functioning from this campus. It also provides separate hostels for boys and girls along with a library within the campus.
Central University of Jharkhand admission process
CUJ offers several integrated undergraduate and postgraduate programs for applicants. The process to get admitted to this university is based on the marks secured in CUET UG and CUET PG respectively. On the other hand, for PhD programs candidates have to perform in the central University of Jharkhand research entrance test to get admitted to the doctorate program. The admission process is done offline after the online registration. The university shortlisted candidates’ names on the websites. After that, the shortlisted students have to report to the college for physical admission. Then they can proceed with the payment of admission online through the registration login portal. Students have to carry their original documents and three sets of copies of the same for offline verification and admission.
How to apply?
- First of all, applicants must have appeared for CUET UG and PG.
- After that, they can proceed further to register on the website for admission.
- Students need to fill out the application form with precise information such as academic history, results, selected courses and personal information.
- Next, they have to attach all the crucial documents with the size constraints.
- The applicant has to pay a non-refundable application of INR 800 for general and INR 400 for SC and ST as a registration fee.
- Once the registration process is completed, take a printout of the application form for future reference.
